The design for these earrings was inspired by Saturn's many moons which orbit around it~

These clusters of moons are made by hand-bending, hand-soldering, and hand-hammering each circle from 20 gauge solid sterling silver wire, then composing and soldering them together into unique, asymmetrical clusters. The moons dangle from delicate ear hooks, hand-bent, soldered, and hammered from 22 gauge solid sterling silver wire. Each earring measures 2.5 inches (63mm) in length and 5/8 inches (16mm) at its widest point.  Delicate, unique, and flattering -- these earrings are finished with a rouge and high polish finish.

Inside of these moon clusters, I have hand-set a .26 carat, 4mm sapphire in a tubular sterling silver setting. Just a little bit of bling to totally set off this stunning pair of earrings!

The sapphire is the birthstone for the month of September. The name sapphire is derived from the Latin word ““saphirus” and the Greek word “sapheiros,” both meaning blue. Some believe that the name sapphire is derived from its association with the planet Saturn. The name can be roughly be translated to mean “dear to the planet Saturn” in many different languages--making it the perfect pairing for this necklace design!
